Central India has been enriched with its glorious heritage and cultural traditions, convention and moods, consisting unity in diversities. Fairs and festivals have unique ways of presenting the cultural glimpse of a region. They are helpful to showcase the rich heritage, life style, festivities and cultural strength of a destination. Madhya Pradesh has various unique characteristics as the state has multiple culture diversity and influence of most of the religions and regions of India. The multiple culture and diversity of Madhya Pradesh provides excellent opportunities to organize various fairs and festivals to promote all types tourism in the State. Many of these festivals have the potential to attract the cultural connoisseur and tourists including foreign as well as domestic, besides providing infotainment to the local citizens.
Madhya Pradesh Tourism offers to organize cultural events to promote various interesting aspects of the State. Some festivals which have been organized in Madhya Pradesh are Jal Mahotsav, Mandu Mahotsav, Orchha Mahotsav, Satpura Cycle Safari, Heritage Run, Khajuraho Dance Festival, Lokrang, HridayDrishyam, Bhopal Literature Fest, Tansen Music Festival to name a few.
Objectives of Performance License Scheme -
With the intention to facilitate the events and to provide hassle free clearances in a fixed timeline and ease of doing business in the state, the government has introduced single window facility exclusively for the Event organizers. This facility allows the organizers to obtain Performance License from the online platform as a one stop solution. Organizers had to obtain clearances for each event from various agencies viz local police, traffic, fire, electricity & entertainment tax office.Now they have only to approach the Licensing Authorities Online and after depositing fee online, they will get performance license online & start work.

- Tourism & Cultural promotional activities
- Music, Dance, Drama & Theatrical performances
- Tourism related Events & Exhibitions
